The fact is that the comparative test of YAMHA DSR versus JBL, MACKIE and RCF has already been done by sound engineers in the USA and also in Germany and??? They simply put four sets against each other in the composition of fullrange top + subwoofer and compared them for long hours. They wrote their comments for each system but ALWAYS came back to the same thing, THEY WERE STUNNED BY THE CLARITY OF THE PERFORMANCE of the DSR115 + DSR118W series, both at low volumes and at maximum excitation. The system simply played strong, cleanly and even after several hours of playing the radiators were only lukewarm. And now the main thing: The Germans had a subjective feeling with the RCF TT25 + sub set that the system played a little louder BUT by measuring the SPL they found that the difference was only 2dB!!! RCF reached 139dB at full excitation and YAMAHA 137dB! As they said, the Yamaha system played so cleanly and pleasantly that they didn't feel like it was playing as loud as the RCF!!!!! There's nothing to add to that... ...ON THE WEB there are already several comparisons and experiences of sound engineers with the new DSRs and 99% are positive. Their only negatives are: DSR 112: no side handles, only a top one DSR 115: heavier box compared to the competition DSR 118W: no wheels for easier transport Quite embarrassing negatives, but even that may weigh on someone's mind :D PS I'll probably sell my VERTEC and switch to something lighter than the DSR ;-)
