A wheeled DJ bag makes it easier to move heavier equipment through a station, along a club corridor or between the car and the stage. Internal dimensions, the total loaded weight and the quality of the telescopic handle are the main points to consider. Wheels help on a flat surface, but you will still need to lift the bag over stairs and kerbs. Check the position of the fixed carrying handles as well.

Dimensions, handle and wheels

Measure the equipment first, including protruding controls and connectors. It needs a stable fit inside rather than a large amount of spare room. Keep cables, headphones and the power supply in separate compartments or between dividers so they do not press against the device.

A wheeled model makes more sense if you regularly carry more accessories or a shoulder strap becomes uncomfortable over a longer route. Check the external dimensions before travelling so the bag fits in the car boot or its storage space.
