Yamaha SBP0F5 Stage Custom Deep Blue Sunburst Drumkit

Yamaha Stage Custom Birch Shell Set — 100% Birch Tone at an Accessible Price

The Yamaha SBP0F5 Stage Custom Shell Set in Deep Blue Sunburst brings the company's decades of birch drum expertise into a 5-piece package aimed at drummers who care about sound quality. Built around 100% birch shells in a 6-ply construction, this set delivers the punchy attack, warm low-end, and controlled high-end that have made the Stage Custom line a favourite since its 1995 introduction. The Deep Blue Sunburst lacquer finish gives the kit a premium look that holds its own on any stage.

This is a shell-only package — no cymbals, no stands, no throne — so you can pair it with the hardware and cymbals you already own or build a setup from scratch. The set includes a 20x17" bass drum, 10x7" and 12x8" rack toms, a 14x13" floor tom, and a 14x5.5" matching wood snare drum, covering the standard configuration needed for rock, jazz, funk, and studio work.

What Makes This Shell Set Stand Out

Yamaha's YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) tom mounting system connects hardware at the nodal point of each drum, minimising contact with the shell so the birch can resonate freely. Combined with die-cast bass drum claws, Absolute-style low-mass lugs, and 1.6mm triple-flanged steel hoops, the hardware is designed to stay out of the sound's way. The Air Seal System shell-forming process keeps every drum perfectly round over time, which matters when you're transporting the kit to gigs and rehearsals week after week.
