The Young Gods are an influential industrial rock band from Fribourg, Switzerland, formed in 1985. Known for their innovative use of sampling and sound manipulation, they create music by layering samples of guitar riffs, strings, and other sounds. The group is led by vocalist Franz Treichler, the only constant member, and currently includes original sampler player Cesare Pizzi and drummer Bernard Trontin. Their sound has evolved over the years to include ambient and electronic elements. The Young Gods have inspired artists such as David Bowie and The Edge, and frequently collaborated with producer Roli Mosimann.
