The Boo Radleys are an English alternative rock band from Wallasey, formed in 1988 by Simon Sice Rowbottom, Martin Carr, and Tim Brown. Rising to prominence in the 1990s, they became known for their blend of shoegaze and Britpop sounds. They achieved major success with their 1995 top ten single Wake Up Boo and the chart-topping album Wake Up. Named after a character from To Kill a Mockingbird, the group split in 1999 but reunited in 2021 without Carr, releasing new material and continuing their legacy as an influential band, famously cited by Interpol’s Paul Banks.
