These pastels are unique in that, even though they are used in the same way as oil pastels, they can still be washed with water, just like watercolor pastels. I don't know the composition and I don't know how it's possible, because oil and water repel each other, but it's definitely a benefit for the creativity of children and students at the school where I buy these pastels. And that's also thanks to the good price-to-decent and usable quality ratio, as I'm used to from the manufacturer Talens. Of course, you can't expect first-class properties. Washing has its limits, and repeated attempts to completely dissolve a more intense stroke can cause the color mass to clump and, of course, the paper to become soggy and crumble. So, it's good to consider washability only as an addition for softening and washing, and not to expect it to be something like a real watercolor. Light shades will also have lower coverage - for the winter landscape theme, we solved this by purchasing a higher-quality opaque white (but it is no longer washable, because it is a classic oil pastel).
