Spiritualized is an English rock band formed in 1990 in Rugby, Warwickshire by Jason Pierce, who was previously a member of Spacemen 3. Known for their mix of space rock, gospel, and experimental sounds, the band has seen several lineup changes over the years. Since 1999, the core of Spiritualized has featured Jason Pierce alongside Doggen Foster on guitar and Kevin Bales on drums, with James Stelfox joining as bassist in 2012. Their most acclaimed album, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, was released in 1997 and was named Album of the Year by NME. As of 2023, Spiritualized has released nine studio albums, earning a reputation for their expansive and emotional sound.
