Small Bluetooth Speakers

A small Bluetooth speaker fits in your jacket pocket or hangs from your rucksack, so you can take the music from your phone on a day out, down to the water or to the cottage. Here you'll find small portable speakers such as the JBL Go, Clip and Flip, Bose SoundLink Micro and Flex, Tribit StormBox, Marshall Willen and Emberton, Sony SRS-XB100 and Anker Soundcore Select 4 Go. Most of them weigh between 0.2 and 0.7 kg and play for around 12 hours on a single charge. If you want more bass for a party, you'll find bigger models among our portable speakers.

Which mini speaker fits in your pocket?

A speaker of up to 0.3 kg fits comfortably in a pocket. With a strap or a carabiner you can carry it hanging, and a slightly bigger model sounds fuller but belongs in a bag.

• For your pocket: JBL GO 4, JBL GO Essential 2, Tribit PocketGo, Anker Soundcore Select 4 Go and Sony SRS-XB100.
• For a rucksack or bike: JBL Clip 5 with a carabiner, Bose SoundLink Micro and Tribit StormBox Micro with a strap.
• For a bag, with fuller sound (0.5 – 0.7 kg): Bose SoundLink Flex, Marshall Emberton III, Sony ULT Field 1 and JBL Flip.

Can a small Bluetooth speaker survive rain or a drop into water?

Almost all the mini speakers here are rated IP67, IPX7 or IP68. IP67 means the speaker is dust-tight and can be submerged to a depth of 1 metre for 30 minutes, so you can safely leave it by the pool or on the beach. The Tribit StormBox Micro 3 and Tribit PocketGo are even rated IP68. An IPX5 rating only protects against water jets, not against submersion. When you need a bigger speaker for use by the water, choose from our waterproof speakers.

How long does a mini speaker play on one charge?

The JBL GO 4 lasts roughly 7 hours, while most small speakers keep going for around 12 hours. For a longer trip, pick the Anker Soundcore Select 4 Go with 20 hours, the Tribit StormBox Micro 3 with 24 hours or the Marshall Emberton III with 32 hours. The Sony SRS-XB100, Marshall Willen II and Bose SoundLink Flex also have a microphone, so you can take calls hands-free, without holding your phone.
