Rockpile were a British rock band active in the late seventies and early eighties, widely recognized for blending pub rock, rockabilly, and power pop, and for shaping the sound of early new wave. The group featured Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, Billy Bremner, and Terry Williams. Although they recorded enough material for multiple albums, only one, Seconds of Pleasure, appeared under the Rockpile name. Much of their other music was released as solo projects by Edmunds and Lowe. Rockpile also contributed as a backing band for artists like Mickey Jupp and Carlene Carter during this era.
