Old Crow Medicine Show is a Nashville-based Americana string band known for blending old-time, folk, and alternative country with a raw, energetic style. Since forming in 1998, they have played a key role in reviving traditional string band music for new audiences and influenced acts like Mumford and Sons. Discovered by bluegrass legend Doc Watson in 2000 while busking in North Carolina, the band became a staple of the Americana scene.
Their music features both original songs and lively renditions of pre-World War II folk and blues. Old Crow Medicine Show was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2013, and their album Remedy earned a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album in 2014. They are best known for the platinum-certified song Wagon Wheel, co-written with Bob Dylan and widely covered by other artists.
The band has released several acclaimed albums and performed at major festivals, including Bonnaroo, Newport Folk Festival, and Stagecoach. They appear regularly at iconic venues like Red Rocks and The Ryman and have been honored with the Americana Music Association’s Trailblazer Award. Their energetic live shows and dedication to roots music continue to captivate fans around the world.
