Napalm Death is an English grindcore band formed in Meriden, West Midlands, in 1981. Renowned as pioneers of grindcore, they fuse elements of crust punk and death metal, creating an intense sound marked by distorted guitars, relentless blast beats, rapid tempos, extremely short songs, and politically charged lyrics. Since 1992, their core lineup has included Shane Embury, Mitch Harris, Danny Herrera, and Mark "Barney" Greenway. The band’s debut album, Scum, released in 1987, had a major influence on the metal scene. They are known for "You Suffer," recognized as the world’s shortest recorded song. Over their career, Napalm Death has released sixteen studio albums and achieved considerable sales and acclaim in the global metal community.
