Carry-On Folding Piano 49 Touch Digital Stage Piano White

Carry-On Folding Piano 49 Touch White — A 49-Key Velocity-Sensitive Keyboard That Fits in Your Backpack

The Carry-On Folding Piano 49 Touch White is a 49-key velocity-sensitive portable keyboard that folds to 390 mm and weighs 1 kg, so it slips into a backpack for travel and lessons. Unfolded it stretches to 775 mm of playable keys; folded it fits a desk drawer. It ships with a sustain pedal and pairs over Bluetooth MIDI to phones, tablets, and laptops.

What Sets this instrument Apart

Unlike most folding keyboards that feel like toys, this model uses velocity-sensitive keys that respond to playing dynamics. The onboard sound engine delivers 128 voices and 128 accompaniment styles that follow left-hand chords, and the keyboard doubles as a class-compliant MIDI controller over USB and Bluetooth, dropping into a DAW or notation app with no drivers.

Touch-Sensitive Keys and Velocity Response

Velocity sensitivity is the biggest upgrade over non-touch folding keyboards. Light presses produce softer tones, harder strikes bring out brighter voices — the same expressive range students expect from a full-size digital piano.

• The keyboard features 49 touch-sensitive keys with a four-octave span, perfect for two-handed playing, scales, and chord work.
• Voices: 128 built-in sounds — pianos, EPs, organs, strings, and synths
• Accompaniment Styles: 128 styles with selectable key — backing tracks that follow left-hand chords for instant ensemble practice

Bluetooth MIDI, USB MIDI, and Silent Practice

Modern players want wireless, and this keyboard delivers MIDI over Bluetooth alongside USB MIDI. The 3.5 mm headphone jack automatically mutes the built-in speakers for silent practice.

• MIDI over Bluetooth: Yes — Mac, iOS, Android — cable-free pairing with phones and tablets for apps and lessons
• MIDI over USB: Yes — Mac/PC, iOS/Android — plug-and-play MIDI controller for DAWs and notation software
• Headphone Output: 3.5 mm stereo, auto-mutes speakers — silent practice without disturbing neighbours

Battery, Speakers, and Foldable Form Factor

The whole point of a folding piano is freedom from cables and stands. The internal Li-ion battery charges over USB-C and runs up to 8 hours, while built-in stereo speakers let the keyboard stand alone without an external amp.

• A built-in 1000 mAh / 3.7 Wh battery provides up to 8 hours of use, allowing for an entire day of practice away from a power outlet.
• Built-in Speakers: 2 x 2 W stereo — self-contained sound for casual performance and demo playback
• Dimensions Folded: 390 x 126 x 48 mm — slips into a backpack, tote, or carry-on luggage
• Weight: 1.0 kg — lighter than most laptops, easy to carry between venues

Traveling Pianists, Students, Teachers, and Songwriters

Pianists needing a real-feel keyboard that fits in a bag will find this model to be the right choice. Students carry it between home and lessons, teachers run sessions in different rooms, songwriters capture ideas on the road, and gigging musicians get a lightweight backup rig. Beginners get 128 accompaniment styles and 30 demo songs that turn practice into playing in a band, while experienced players use the velocity-sensitive keys and class-compliant MIDI to drive software instruments in a DAW.

Carry-On: A Junior Design Award-Winning Folding Piano

Carry-On is the portable-piano brand developed by Blackstar Amplification, and the Folding Piano line earned a Gold Junior Design Award in 2021 for making a full-size piano experience accessible to children, students, and travelers. The 49-key Touch variant adds velocity-sensitive keys and Bluetooth MIDI to the original design, keeping the 1 kg folded footprint that has made the line a favourite among music teachers and content creators.
