Candle Decorating Wax
Candle decorating wax comes as thin coloured strips and ready-made wax ornaments that decorate a candle without any heating. Separate a strip with a knife, lay it on the candle and press lightly, and it sticks at room temperature. This page has Knorr Prandell wax strip sets in basic, rainbow and pastel colours, glossy gold and silver strips, and strips with a bead surface. For festive candles there are also wax hearts and wedding rings. All strips are 200 mm long and differ in width, colour and number of pieces per pack.
Which candle wax strips and ornaments are available?
Narrow strips 1 mm wide are for thin lines and lettering. Wider strips of 2 to 3 mm make a bolder border, frame or ornament.

How do you stick decorating wax on a candle?
- Carefully separate the strips from each other with a sharp craft knife.
- Lay a strip where the line, letter or ornament should go.
- Press it lightly with a finger. The wax sticks at room temperature, so neither the candle nor the strip needs to be warmed.
Wax hearts and wedding rings are applied the same way. Together with the strips they make, for example, a wedding candle with names and a date.
Decorating wax or candle making wax?
Decorating wax is not meant for melting; it is applied to the surface of a finished candle. Wax, wicks and moulds for making your own candle are in the Candle Making category and on the Candle Moulds page. For drawing or writing on a candle freehand, see candle pens.
