Barbara, born Monique Andrée Serf, was a celebrated French singer and songwriter. Adopting her stage name from her grandmother, she rose to prominence in Paris in the late 1950s as the midnight singer before composing her own deeply personal songs. She is best known for classics like Dis, quand reviendras-tu, Ma plus belle histoire d'amour, and L'Aigle noir, the latter achieving remarkable commercial success.
