Walrus Audio Canvas Volume Pedal
The Canvas Volume Pedal is designed to provide precise control, long-term reliability, and flexible integration in modern pedal setups. Built around a precision position sensor and high-quality voltage-controlled amplifiers (VCAs), it delivers a fully analog signal path without the mechanical wear associated with traditional volume pedals. Adjustable response parameters allow the pedal’s feel and behavior to be tailored to different playing styles.
With no strings, pots, or gears, Canvas Volume eliminates common failure points found in conventional designs. Contactless position sensing ensures consistent performance without scratchiness or degradation over time. Combined with a robust metal construction, it is built for reliable use on stage and in the studio.
Housed in a steel and aluminum chassis, Canvas Volume balances durability with pedalboard-friendly weight, making it suitable for long-term professional use in a wide range of environments.
Fully Analog Signal Path, Digitally Controlled Precision
Canvas Volume uses a precision sensor to track pedal movement and control high-quality analog VCAs, resulting in smooth and musical volume changes. This design preserves the natural feel and tone of a classic volume pedal while offering improved consistency and control.
Flexible Signal Routing
Canvas Volume is designed to integrate easily into various signal chains and supports multiple routing configurations:
- Mono In / Mono Out with dedicated Tuner Out
- Stereo In / Stereo Out
- Mono In / Dual Mono Out
These options allow the pedal to function seamlessly in mono, stereo, or split-output setups.
Deep Customization Under the Heel
Controls are positioned discreetly under the heel of the pedal to prevent accidental changes while remaining easy to access. Two buttons and LED indicators provide control over four key parameters.
Taper
The taper determines how volume responds across the pedal’s sweep. Canvas Volume includes one custom-designed taper and seven models based on well-known volume pedals, offering a wide range of response curves from smooth and gradual to more linear behavior:
- Taper One (Canvas)
- Taper Two (Lehle)
- Taper Three (Boss)
- Taper Four (Dunlop)
- Taper Five (Ernie Ball VP Jr)
- Taper Six (Hotone)
- Taper Seven (Hilton)
- Taper Eight (Goodrich)
Minimum On
This parameter sets the volume level when the pedal is fully heel-down. At its lowest setting, the signal is nearly muted, while higher settings allow signal to remain present, supporting smoother swells or faster response.
Gain
Gain controls the maximum output level when the pedal is fully toe-down. Unity gain is available at the default setting, with up to +9 dB of additional output available, allowing the pedal to function as a clean volume boost.
Lag
Lag adds a controllable delay between pedal movement and volume change. This allows transitions to feel smoother and enables expressive swells, with settings ranging from immediate response to a slower, more gradual reaction.
Тype: Volume Pedal
Volume Pedal is a control pedal that allows smooth real-time adjustment of an instrument’s volume. It enables silent fades, dramatic swells, or complete muting without using your hands. It’s often used for expressive dynamic transitions, ambient effects, or as a volume control tool within the signal chain.
