It is essentially a small pedal-shaped single-track recorder/player that records in CD quality. You can record the result in the same signal chain as where you recorded it, you can organize/name it with an app or you can transfer it to the desktop via USB. It may seem that these tasks can be performed with other existing devices, but if you try to think about what is needed, how many gadgets, cables and configurations, and how much it costs, you will realize that this gadget is more useful than you think. For example, I use it for: - I use it to record loops perfected with the Ditto Looper. You could know. Ditto can also record, but can't. - If I'm by myself in the rehearsal room or just practicing at home, I play a few simpler bass themes one after the other, then loop them and play guitar to them. -At concerts, it is connected to the line-out of the amplifier, I record my guitar track separately. If you can't hear it on the external recording, you can mix it in, maybe adjust the dynamics afterwards, and in extreme cases, correct errors on it. -I don't use it for songwriting, you need more tracks for that, Garage Band is good for that
