I had a discontinued Tascam DR-05, which was quite noisy at higher sensitivity, so limited use for field recording. Different rules of the game here, the X8 handles everything very well so far. The only thing that annoys me so far is the noise, when recording and handling in the hand, it simply needs a tripod, inu the plastic body takes its toll. Overall, the whole thing gives a cheap impression, but whatever, for the money, I think, a pretty fine purchase and one can't expect a Merceder. The gears are on a solid level, but not on the level of, for example, the Zoom F3, with which I have the opportunity to compare, here also the workmanship and materials used are on a completely different level.As for the wind protection of the WS-86, do not buy it, not much, the hairs fall out of it and the medium wind is already quite noticeable. All in all, I don't regret the purchase, I have 6x mic input, built in mics and most importantly 32bit float.
