Tama LGB146 Natural Quilted Bubinga 14" Natural Snare Drum
14” x 6” snare drum for Sound Lab Project (S.L.P.) series that features a 12-ply 10mm Bubinga shell (10mm,1-ply bubinga + 1 outer ply of quilted bubinga) that is a stunning example of TAMA’s expertise. It is also equipped with 2.3mm, 10-hole steel mighty flanged hoops, and separate low-mass lugs enable the shell to resonate more naturally, providing the snare with an extraordinarily punchy sound with a large helping of low-end.
Series: Sound Lab Project
The Sound Lab Project series brings cutting-edge innovation to drum design, featuring shells with pioneering materials and construction techniques. Engineered for modern drummers, these kits deliver clarity, projection, and tonal richness.
Shell Material: Bubinga
Bubinga is a dense, exotic hardwood that delivers a powerful, rich sound with enhanced low-end and strong projection. It offers deep, punchy bass tones, focused mids, and smooth, present highs. Its natural hardness contributes to excellent attack and sustain, making it a favorite for drummers seeking both depth and clarity. Bubinga shells are often used in high-end drum kits designed for rock, fusion, and studio work.
Number of Plies: 12
The number of layers affects the overall resonance, sustain, and tonal qualities of the drums. With 12 layers, the drum delivers exceptional strength and rigidity, resulting in a very focused sound with tight low-end response, precise midrange, and smooth, controlled highs.
