Steven Siro Vai, born June 6, 1960, is an acclaimed American guitarist, songwriter, and producer. Renowned for his innovative and distinctive playing style, he began his career as a transcriptionist and later a band member for Frank Zappa from 1980 to 1983. Since launching his solo career in 1983, Vai has released 11 solo albums, including the influential Passion and Warfare. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with acts like Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake, as well as recording with artists across diverse genres. Vai is a three-time Grammy Award winner and has sold over 15 million records worldwide.
