This plugin is a collaborative effort with Dr. Chris Warren, also known as Superhoax, who is renowned for creating Echothief, the impulse response library that serves as the foundation for our modeling reverb. This plugin is an adaptation of his innovative Picante MaxForLive patch.
Soft Saturation
Picante functions as a versatile tone shaper, graphic EQ, and light distortion tool. It can introduce a touch of grit or a gentle fuzz, allowing for a rich tonal experience. The full-range EQ provides precise control, while the limiters add a subtle layer of nonlinearities for enhanced tonal depth.
Light, Sweet, or Crude
Utilizing a unique blend of limiters and saturation, Picante achieves a light push overdrive that is ideal for accentuating the grit in horns and vocals. When used more aggressively, it can push a tone to be bold without becoming overly distorted.
