The MVX2U Gen 2 is fully compatible with any XLR microphone — dynamic, condenser, or ribbon. Its +60 dB of maximum clean gain is sufficient to drive even low-output dynamic microphones like the Shure SM7B or SM58 to full recording level without introducing preamp noise or distortion. For condenser microphones, the built-in 48V phantom power supply activates with a single button press. One interface, compatible with your entire microphone collection.

The Gen 2 upgrade specifically addresses mobile performance. The MVX2U Gen 2 is compatible with iOS 17 and later, Android 14 and later, Windows 10 and later, and macOS 14 and later, switching seamlessly between desktop and mobile devices. It is MFi certified for iPhone and iPad, ensuring reliable, officially supported operation. Bus-powered via USB-C, it requires no batteries, no adapters, and no external power supply — just plug in and record.

24-Bit Audio with Improved Noise Floor

The Gen 2 brings meaningful hardware improvements over its predecessor: an improved noise floor reaching -117 dBFS, an enhanced headphone amplifier delivering 20 mW at 32 Ω, and an upgraded digital-to-analogue converter for cleaner monitoring. Recording at 16-bit or 24-bit depth at 48 kHz, the MVX2U Gen 2 captures audio with the resolution needed for professional broadcast, podcast, and content creation workflows.

Zero-Latency Monitoring and Onboard DSP

The 3.5mm headphone output allows real-time zero-latency monitoring of the input signal, so you always hear exactly what is being recorded without the delay that frustrates so many USB audio setups. The full onboard DSP suite — Auto Level Mode, real-time Denoiser, Digital Popper Stopper for plosive control, EQ, Compression, Limiter, and High-Pass Filter — is configured via the Shure MOTIV apps and stored onboard the device, so your sound settings follow you between devices without reconfiguration.
