The tone fields of the Melody Tongue Drum 14" D Kurd are on the D minor scale, one of the most popular and accessible tunings for handpans and tongue drums. Since all the notes of the instrument fit together harmoniously, a melodious sound is always created when playing, without any "wrong" notes. Composing on this tongue drum is particularly easy because of the central D(3) root. Playing chords is also easy because the corresponding notes are always next to each other.

Rubber feet on the bottom of the instrument ensure a secure stand, and a rubber ring protects the outer edge of the reed drum from damage.
