About the VLA-2A

Black Rooster Audio proudly presents the VLA-2A, the ultimate emulation of the iconic opto-electronic compressor from the late 1960s. This plugin enhances your signals' dynamics in a lively and musical manner.

About the VLA-3A

The VLA-3A combines elements from its predecessor with discrete solid-state circuitry. While it retains the classic T4 based opto-compressor sound, it offers a quicker, brighter, and more modern response.

VLA-2A Mark II

Experience the VLA-2A Mark II, the pinnacle of emulation for the legendary opto-electronic compressor of the late 1960s. After extensive research and engineering, this plugin delivers the most authentic native emulation available today. Perfect for drums, bass, or vocals, the VLA-2A Mark II allows for precise compression adjustments that help your signals shine in the mix.

VLA-3A

The VLA-3A plugin is one of the most authentic emulations of its 70s analog counterpart. This compressor is our go-to choice for vocals, enhancing the ambience of percussive material and adding cohesion to your mixes.

VLA-FET

Black Rooster Audio is thrilled to introduce the VLA-FET, inspired by one of the most celebrated leveling amplifiers in studio history. This plugin offers intuitive yet powerful dynamics manipulation, providing a versatile creative tool without overwhelming complexity. With its rapid attack and release times, it shapes your signals with precision, making it perfect for impactful drums, bass, and vocals.

In addition to classic parameters, modern enhancements have been integrated to increase flexibility. The emulation is based on the classic LN Rev F, featuring Lundahl transformers and an op-amp input stage similar to the LA-4A, all meticulously designed to achieve an authentic vintage sound.

Features

• Authentic Circuit Emulation: Our real-time SPICE type component-based circuit simulation captures the sound and feel of the analog counterpart in all its nuances. Key components, including audio transformers, tube stages, and passive filter networks, have been faithfully modeled.
• SSE2 Optimized Code: DSP operations are pipelined using the SSE2 instruction set, ensuring high performance even with complex computations.
• Auto-Adjusted Oversampling: Aliasing artifacts are minimized using a low latency linear phase Dolph-Chebyshev poly-phase design. Oversampling adjusts automatically to your session's sample rate, conserving CPU power while delivering transparent sound.
• HighDPI / Retina Support: All plugins support high pixel density on Mac OSX and Windows, providing an enjoyable user experience on high DPI displays.
