M-Live GO.8 Sequencer / Arranger
GO.8 is an advanced automatic switcher designed for seamless backup management during live performances. It supports automatic switching of 8 audio channels, 1 MIDI line, and 1 video line, making it ideal for use with B.Beat systems or computer-based setups. Perfect for concerts and theatrical productions where audio, MIDI, and video tracks must run uninterrupted, GO.8 ensures complete reliability and smooth transitions in case of system failure.
Never Crash on Stage Again
At the core of GO.8 is a gate system that continuously monitors the main signal. If a crash is detected, the unit switches in real time to the backup machine, guaranteeing continuity.
It features two input groups (A and B) with:
- 8 balanced audio channels
- 1 video input
- 1 MIDI input
Switching is triggered automatically by a specific SYNCH signal (1 kHz sine wave) on channel 8. If this signal stops, the system instantly switches to group B. Manual switching is also possible via the SELECT button on the front panel.
Built for the Stage
GO.8 is housed in a robust 19″ steel rack unit and offers flexible connectivity:
- Inputs: 25-pin D-sub or 1/4″ TRS
- Outputs: D-sub and transformer-isolated XLR with balanced mic-level DI output for stage snakes, eliminating hum and ground loop issues
- Rear panel: Balanced direct line-level outputs via D-sub
Optimized for B.Beat Integration
When using M-Live's B.Beat line, the SYNCH signal can be included in audio track 8 (via Jack or DB25). This enables full use of all B.Beat outputs without sacrificing any for synchronization, maximizing the system’s performance potential.
Cascade Mode for Large Systems
GO.8 supports cascading for more complex setups. Multiple units can be chained to handle:
- 16, 24, or 32 audio channels
- Redundant MIDI and video signals
For example, two GO.8 units can manage 16 channels from B.Beat PRO16 while maintaining redundancy across all media.
PC and Tablet Compatible
GO.8 is also compatible with computers and tablets. To enable switching in this setup, a dedicated drone (SYNCH) track must be recorded in the DAW and routed to channel 8. This technical signal triggers the switch if the main system fails. This step is unnecessary when using two B.Beat units.
SMPTE Timecode Ready
GO.8 supports SMPTE timecode (LTC) on channel 7 (groups A and B) for precise, real-time sync verification.
Redundant Power Supply
To further ensure reliability, GO.8 includes dual power supply inputs. If one source fails, the system continues running without interruption.
