Destruction is a German thrash metal band founded in 1982, recognized as one of the "Big Four" of German thrash alongside Kreator, Sodom, and Tankard. Known for their influential early albums, they helped shape both thrash and black metal. After spending most of the 1990s self-releasing music, they joined Nuclear Blast in the early 2000s. Their early work remains highly regarded within the metal community.
