Denon PRIME 4 G2 DJ Controller
Denon DJ PRIME 4 G2 is a four-deck standalone DJ system that plays a complete set without a laptop, built around a 10.1" HD touchscreen, full-size 8" jog wheels and ESS Sabre 32-bit conversion. The second generation adds multi-zone MPC performance pads, onboard Stem separation with Instant Acapella and Instrumental buttons, and an expanded effects engine with two Main FX modules, ten Touch FX, Fader FX and four Sweep FX. A built-in isolated DMX port drives Engine Lighting directly, while Wi-Fi streaming, Bluetooth audio and balanced XLR outputs cover everything from a packed club to a private event.
- 4-channel, 4-deck standalone system with a 10.1" HD multi-touch display and 8" high-resolution jog wheels
- Multi-zone MPC performance pads combine several functions and parameters in a single pad
- Onboard Stem separation with Instant Acapella and Instrumental buttons, Stems pad mode and Stem Level EQ
- Built-in isolated DMX output for Engine Lighting powered by SoundSwitch, plus Philips Hue and Nanoleaf control
Denon DJ PRIME 4 G2 — Four-Deck Standalone DJ System with Stems, FX and DMX
PRIME 4 G2 is the second generation of the standalone system that turned four-deck, computer-free performance into a club standard. It keeps the proven layout of the original PRIME 4 and adds multi-zone MPC performance pads, onboard Stem separation, a deeper effects workflow and a built-in DMX interface for lighting. A 10.1" HD touchscreen, full-size 8" jog wheels and ESS Sabre 32-bit conversion make it equally suited to a packed club and a polished private event.
Multi-Zone MPC Performance Pads
The sixteen pads are the first MPC-style multi-zone performance pads built into a DJ system. They are velocity and pressure sensitive with 3D-sensing technology, so a single pad can trigger a hot cue, shape an effect, move a parameter or fire a lighting cue depending on where and how hard it is struck. Pad work becomes an expressive layer of the performance instead of simple triggering.
- Performance pads: 16 MPC pads, velocity and pressure sensitive with 3D sensing — several functions and parameters on a single pad
Onboard Stems and Expanded FX Workflow
Stem separation runs on the unit itself and splits tracks into vocal and instrumental parts in real time. Dedicated Instant Acapella and Instrumental buttons sit next to each deck, while a Stems pad mode and Stem Level EQ give finer control over each element. The effects section covers two dynamic Main FX modules with more than 25 effects, toggle paddles and Favorite FX buttons, ten reactive Touch FX with latch, fader-triggered Fader FX, and four Sweep FX on dedicated knobs across the mixer channels.
- Stems: onboard rendering and playback, Instant Acapella / Instrumental, Stems pad mode, Stem Level EQ
- Effects: 2× Main FX (25+ FX), 10× Touch FX, Fader FX, 4× Sweep FX — Favorite FX buttons for instant recall
ESS Sabre Audio Path
Every output runs through ESS ES9017S 32-bit converters. The balanced XLR mains reach up to 119 dB of dynamic range with total harmonic distortion and noise of 0.001 % and a maximum output level of +20 dBu, and the headphone output delivers 180 mW into 32 Ω. Balanced Main, Booth and Zone outputs let the Zone feed a separate room or terrace from its own deck or playlist, with a dedicated Cue button.
- D/A conversion: ESS ES9017S 32-bit DAC
- Main outputs (XLR): up to 119 dB dynamic range, THD+N 0.001 %, max. +20 dBu
- Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz
- Headphone output: 180 mW @ 32 Ω, 10 mW @ 600 Ω
10.1" Touchscreen, 8" Jog Wheels and Dual-Rail Faders
The 1280×800 optically bonded multi-touch display supports gestures for fast browsing and waveform work. The full-size 8" jog wheels carry stem status displays and cue position indicators built from 60 RGB LEDs each. Five 45 mm channel faders and the crossfader use a premium dual-rail design, side-mounted to keep dust and debris out and rated for a long service life. An eight-core ARM processor with 4 GB of RAM keeps the system responsive.
- Display: 10.1" (256.5 mm), 1280×800, optically bonded multi-touch
- Jog wheels: 8" with 60-LED RGB displays — stem status and cue position
- Faders: 5× 45 mm channel faders and crossfader, side-mounted dual-rail
Engine Lighting with a Built-In DMX Port
Engine Lighting powered by SoundSwitch runs on the unit through a physical isolated DMX output, so a full show can be programmed and played back without an external interface. One universe of 512 channels is available on board, and adding a SoundSwitch DMX Micro or Control One extends the system to two universes and 1024 channels. Philips Hue and Nanoleaf fixtures are supported directly for smaller setups.
- DMX: built-in isolated interface, 1 universe / 512 channels — up to 2 universes / 1024 channels with a SoundSwitch interface
- Smart lighting: Philips Hue, Nanoleaf
Wi-Fi Streaming, Bluetooth and OmniSource
Built-in Wi-Fi opens access to Amazon Music Unlimited, Apple Music, Beatport, SoundCloud GO+ and TIDAL, with Spotify support coming; each service requires its own subscription. A Bluetooth deck plays and controls audio from a phone or tablet, and Bluetooth v5.4 also accepts keyboards for faster searching. OmniSource support for Serato, Algoriddim and VirtualDJ is on the way and will allow standalone and software decks to be mixed at the same time.
- Streaming: Amazon Music Unlimited, Apple Music, Beatport, SoundCloud GO+, TIDAL, Spotify (coming soon)
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 5 (2.4/5 GHz, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth v5.4
Mixer, Microphones and Connections
The on-screen mixer section handles crossfader assignment and curve, FX and input assignment per channel (Line, Bluetooth, Computer or Engine), Fader Start, microphone routing and FX, plus a 10-band software EQ for the Main, Zone and Booth outputs. Two combo XLR/6.3 mm microphone inputs offer three-band EQ, Echo and Reverb, Talkover and anti-feedback, and Mic 2 doubles as an instrument or line input. Media options cover two USB Type-A ports, two USB Type-C ports, an SD card slot and an internal drive bay, with two stereo line/phono inputs on channels 3 and 4.
- Outputs: Main XLR and RCA, Booth XLR, Zone XLR, 6.3 mm and 3.5 mm headphones
- Inputs: 2× microphone combo XLR/6.3 mm, 2× stereo line/phono (RCA)
- Media: 2× USB-A, 2× USB-C, SD/SDHC/SDXC, internal SATA 3.0 drive bay
- Dimensions and weight: 76.2 × 49.71 × 10.49 cm, 9.9 kg
Who It Is For
PRIME 4 G2 suits club and festival DJs who want four decks and a complete lighting rig from a single unit, and mobile or wedding DJs who need a Zone output for a second room, two microphones and a system that works without a laptop. Performers who build sets around stems and effects get the deepest toolset Denon DJ has put into a standalone system.
Denon DJ — Pioneers of Standalone DJ Performance
Denon DJ has driven computer-free DJing since the PRIME series arrived, and the original PRIME 4 established the four-deck standalone format. The G2 revision builds on that platform with new performance hardware and closer integration between standalone and software workflows.
