Audio-Technica AT8010 Studio Condenser Microphone

The AT8010 is a cardioid condenser microphone designed for handheld live performance use, providing the sensitivity and extended frequency response of condenser technology in a format suited to stage vocalists, presenters, and public speakers. Its cardioid polar pattern focuses pickup at the front of the capsule while rejecting sound from the sides and rear, helping to control feedback and stage monitor bleed in live reinforcement environments.

Condenser Sensitivity for Live Stage

Condenser microphones offer higher sensitivity and a more extended high-frequency response than dynamic alternatives, capturing the breathiness and upper harmonics of vocal performances with greater accuracy. The AT8010 brings this acoustic character to live applications, providing a cleaner, more detailed sound than typical dynamic stage microphones for vocalists who prioritize tonal accuracy over maximum SPL handling.

Cardioid Pattern and Feedback Resistance

The tight cardioid polar pattern of the AT8010 provides good front-to-back rejection, maintaining useful gain-before-feedback when the microphone is used in front of monitor speakers. The pattern is consistent across the frequency range, preventing the off-axis coloration that affects some condenser designs in live sound applications.

Phantom Power and XLR Output

The AT8010 operates on standard 48V phantom power and connects via a standard XLR connector to any professional mixing console or PA system. Its standard microphone body dimensions accept conventional mic clips and boom stand adapters used throughout live sound production.
